Anca Hariton is a multidisciplinary American artist, writer, teacher and a former architect from Eastern Europe. Her children's picture books, posters, greeting cards and poems have been published in the U.S. and abroad. Together with her educational plays, songs/lyrics they have earned her repeated honors, awards and grants.

In the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, after years of working in design and architecture, Anca decided to switch careers. With support from her family, she became an educator, earning a teaching credential from Sonoma State University and later her Waldorf teacher certification from Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks. After a decade of teaching (kindergarten through fifth grade) in California public schools, she is now dedicating her time to her artwork (painting, writing in her Sacristima Studio and puppetry productions with Leaven Dream Puppets (link below).

Teaching and researching the sacred heritage of different traditions, together with studying the writings of Rudolf Steiner, inspires Anca's art and provides a way to integrate education, healing and self development. Sacristima is an invitation to contemplate what may not be easily perceived, to nurture  the sacred in our lives.
